RIYADH: Leejam Sports Co. has appointed Adnan Al-Khalaf as chief executive officer effective Feb. 13, 2022, after a board resolution on Monday, according to a bourse filing.
This followed the termination of Anthony Elliot’s assignment to the post. He will continue his tenure as a chief operating officer.
With 20 years of management experience, Al-Khalaf has assumed several executive positions in different companies across various sectors, including telecom giant stc.
Separately, the company’s chairman, Ali Al-Sagri, told Argaam that the gym chain owner seeks to add at least 15 clubs this year.
“Leejam eyes more growth, compared to 2021, while maintaining, if not marginally increasing, its profit margins,” he said.
Al-Sagri noted that the company saw a 10 percent increase in subscriptions during 2021, reaching 292,000, as well as an improved financial performance as it swung from losses into profit.
The financial results achieved in the fourth quarter of 2021, which were driven by cost-cutting measures and higher sales, were the company’s highest ever, he added.
